National Archives was not quite expecting the turn out they have gotten to the release of the 1940's Census, GREAT work for getting the word out. The sooner that this is done the sooner everyone will be able to access it. Some other places that you can access these documents are Ancestry.com which is giving free access for 1 Billion 1940's records. You can access them through Family Search.org, and WorldVitalRecord.  I am posting updates on my Facebook page as they occur, and here is the updated information on all the glitches occuring throughout the day from NPR.

I guess that would explain why I couldn't view anything on the nara site yesterday.  I pretty much stuck to Ancestry and looked up people as they got more data online.
