Hi my name is Barbara, and I am new to the group. I have a wonderful, smart son named Eric. He is eleven, and was diagnosed at 3 with PDD. He now has high functioning autism. My husband, Eric and I just moved to DFW area. My husband is finishing out his Army Career here.
I am grateful for this group, because so many days you want to scream and cry, but feel as if no one truly understands. I am so thrilled with my son, and feel that we should all see the world through the eyes of an autistic child. They appreciate all that God created, and the rest of the world has no time to notice the beauty of the world we live in. My son is so loving and now I understand why God gave him to us. My husband was deployed many times, my mom became ill and recently died, and my son hugged me every day and prayed to God for our family. What a blessing!!! Thanks for this group of families that are a family through the experiences we all share.
