ok so now that we have started here is a great way to recycle the old baby food jars.

first get paints that you can use to paint on glass!!!
next make sure to soak the baby food jars in water to clean them and to remove the paper and glue.
dry the jars and then paint them any way you would like

after they are dry you can use them to store things, put tea light candles in them and use them outside on tables, when having parties you can put mustard, ketsup, etc in them.

Or they are great to put salt/ pepper in.
just use a nail and hammer to punch little holes into lid then put lid on jar.

When my kids was babies my husband had a long shelf in his garage, he took and nailed the lids of the baby jars to the board and then filled the jars with screws, nuts, bolt, ect and then just screwed them on. Worked great and could see what was inside to.

wow that is a great idea. they are also great for young kids to seperate there change in so they can count it easier.  I have also heard of people storing paint in them so the paint doesn't dry up.

My mother-in-law loves to use them for canning jams/jellies to give as little gifts...decorated for the occasion with paint, ribbon, etc.
Also, I too have built my husband a shelf with these for random hardware...it really works well!

I really wanted to do that but where do you find the new lids to use?
