I know this has been posted so many times, but I wanted to share again! Lol! This is my favorite food ever!!!

1 lb of ground turkey
1 cup of rice
2 lemons
2 cloves of garlic
lamb or beef on the bone
olive oil
Salt, pepper, allspice, garlic powder
1 jar of grapeleaves
1 can of crushes tomatos

1. boil grape leaves with a little salt

2. combine turkey, rice, 1 clove of garlic minced, a little olive oil and spices. Roll inside the grape leaves, making them about an inch lon.

3. place lamb or beef in the bottom of a pot, layer grape leaves, adding tomato and slices of garlic over each layer.

4. add the final layer and place slices of garlic and 1/2 of a lemon slices, squeeze the other half of the lemons juice, spices and add water to cover the rolled up leaves.

5. boil covered for 20 mins and simmer for atleast 2 hours. Serve with the other lemon wedges. Enjoy :)

LOL funny meeting you here. I was looking at someone elses profile and found this group. I LOVE grape leaves. Where can I find them? Do you have to order them? Or are they at the store?

Also, do you cook the turkey first or does it cook up just fine inside the leaves.

I am completely new to MAKING them myself... now eating them, thats another story lol.

Well, lol thats not true. I had them only twice. And they were in some kind of oil and stuffed with couscous. I liked them, but not the oil so much.

These look DELISH!! Made me super hungry lol.

I am all over Cafemom, lol!
They have them at a Supermarket her, Giant, in the greek foods section in a glass jar.
You don't cook the turkey or the rice, it cooks on it's own!

I am not Palestinian (although I married into the culture). I am human. I
believe in human rights for everyone. Some people may think that this
is not "our" fight, but it is to me, because no matter their religion or cultural background, they are our brothers and sisters in humanity.  I will protest right along side everyone in Palestine. I may not be able to change the world, but I can
die trying.

DreadyMom......   You can also get a Jar of grape leaves from the internationl market in your area.....  when you get them soak them in tap water drain then soak them again in tap water for 2 hours to get the brine it was in out.....

I use ground beef and rice mixture..... with a lil mint... I do not make mine in tamata sauce.. I add loads of garlic and chicken broth with a lil olive oil......     I have had them in tamata sauce and it is very good......    I love them too!
