  • as salaamu 3laykum,

I like her and some of her dishes.... When I first made Arab Cusine I used her, then I saw how she did the Malfoof (Cabbage Rolls) and I did not like it... they are sloppy, she does not tuck in the sides, My dh would never eat it looking like that...lol, lol... & I do not expect any of you beauty queens to serve your dh anything looking like that and that is when I started with the Posting Pics of my dishes so you can see how neat, pleasant and nice the dish looks.... I love you beauty queens dishes and how you plate them.... they are just beautiful.... hers are too but I just did not like how she rolled up them cabbage rolls....lol, lol... and she said LUBYA for a dish I have known to be called Fasuliyah... if I am not mistaken LUBYA is Blackeye Peas and Fasuliyah is Stingbean or Green Beans..... correct me if I am wrong... don think I am for my MIL tough me to cook and that is what I have seen on other sites also.....

I love her as I said I used her in the beginning days, I do recomend visiting her page/site if you need voice and video tutoral steps... it is very helpful... I will be using her Shuwarmah recipe from my own and a few other dishes like Hummos with meat and a few others...

TY for posting this mroschmann and for making it a sticky... PI....

  • greetings sisters.

I have to say that I love Dede's website. Her recipes are very similar to the way my mom makes these recipes.  I do have to correct you sister b/c Dede is correct.  Lubya IS green string bean and foosolya is cooked almost the same way but with white beans.  I've always known the dishes to be like this, I even asked my friends to double check and Dede's is correct.  Maybe in your culture they are called differently but as far as me, my mom and friends are concerned, lubya is made with green string beans and foosolya is made with white beans.  HOpe this helps to clarify and ladies keep on cooking.  I hope Dede makes kabsi soon, i love this dish. Salam : )

  • As salaamu 3laykum,

Alhumdulilah there is some clarification on this.

So I guess it is the dif in CULTURE's, in Palestin and Jordan we call the green bean (String bean Stew) Fasooliyah and the Beans, (Blackeye Peas) Lubiya.

Sis PI dh says that the beans are Lubiya where her is from and that is Egypt, and he also said that it is called dif with large pieces of meat and small pieces of meat where he is from...

So alhumdulilah there we have it... it is called dif names in dif parts of the country....

hope who all makes it enjoyed it and do not forget to take pics of your dishes and post it/them

    ma salaam
