ok. . .to start out my son had his newborn and two month shots (before I knew better)  but none after

So he has had a cold for 2 weeks now and his cough was getter really really nasty today, so I decided to take him to the dr. .. . She listened to his chest and said he was wheezing:(  If it doesnt get better in a week she wants to check again and possibly do breathing treatments. . .

then she OF CORSE brings up the flu shot and how I really should give it to him b/c if he gets the flu his lungs could really get bad.

My boyfriend has agreed with my about the shots but he thinks that he should get this one b/c what if and I dunno I am so torn

I do not want to give it to him AT ALL:(  But i dunno Im just so sad :(

From what I understand, it's not even safe to give the flu shot before 18-24 months. Not that it is safe in the first place.

Co-sleeping, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, baby-wearing, no cry-it-out, non-vaxing, type of mama.

I know longer take my son to his pedi. They try to push vaxing on people, not only because they swear it's oh so healthy, they also get paid for every vax they give out.

Co-sleeping, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, baby-wearing, no cry-it-out, non-vaxing, type of mama.

i would not give that one to him. my doc wouldn't even let me give that one to my baby when she was that age. she just said to stay away from big crowds if we could. plus everyone that i know of that actually got the flu shot this year (with exception of 1) actually GOT the flu!! now what is up with that? just remember that when they make the flu vaccine, they are guessing at what strain will be out. that's what i've heard anyway. i never get the flu shot and i have never had the flu. my hubby never has had one and never has had the flu either

I didn't think they recommended the flu shot for a baby that small.  I wouldn't get it, sounds more like a cold or virus, both of which have to run their course.

But, it's your choice. Good luck:)

Oh, I also agree with the PP who said they didn't go to pedi's anymore, I don't either, I have a family doctor.

They will say anything to sell their product. Have you consider looking into a naturopatic doctor?

I wouldn't give a baby the flu  shot, especially if he is already sick! Hang in there!

The flu shot is one of the worst shots out there!!  dont give it to him.  It does contain thermisol (mercury) and has some of the worst side effects.

I wouldn't take him to a pedi anymore & whatever you do I would not give him a flu shot. Imho, all pedi's do is push vaxes & drugs to make $$$$$$. It's all about the kickbacks more so than your child...sad, but true! I could go on & on, but I won't. See if you can find a chiro or holistic Dr. I'd also look around on CM for natural remedies. Good luck to you Mama & let us know how it goes.
