Hi everyone.
My grandson is turning 2 months on Jan 13th and he is due to go in on Thursday to be vaccinated for pneumonia and Polo. We decided not to give him any shots at birth due to the fact that my son is autistic and I strongly feel that the vaccines did play a part in it. However, my daughter feels that my grandson should be alright with the pneumonia and Polo shot now that he is just about two months. I don't know but I really don't feel comfortable with that but it is her son and that I have to respect. Is there any information on the pneumonia and polo vaccines proving that it is safe to vaccinate?
This will help you to understand why Polio vaccine is not need AT ALL. Each video is only a few minutes long. This is Dr. Sherri Tenpenny.
I'm sure somebody will help you out with the other vaccine info. I don't know much about it.
The only info that you will most likely find stating that any vaccine is safe is from the CDC, FDA and all the of provax drs out there. I cannot provide you with any info saying polio, pneumonia vax are safe, nor that any other vaccines are safe. they are all dangerous. I would strongly recommend talking your daughter into delaying them for at least a few years, to give your grandson's immune system some time to build up. Also, if you feel that vaccines played a huge roll in your child's autism, I am surprised that your daughter would want to vax, especially since autism rates are higher in boys and that it comes so close to home.
What are her reasons for wanting to vax? Is she pretty firm on it, is she knowledgeable on the diseases? vaccines?
Some Canadian doctors in Winnipeg did a study regarding delaying vaccines from 2 months to 6 months. They found a remarkable decrease in the childrens likelihood of becoming asthmatic by delaying vaccines just those few months. I'll look through my articles and send you a link to it but wanted to put something down here to in order to find my way back here again.
Do you think your daughter would be ok with delaying for just a few months and in that time you could help her do some serious research on whether or not to proceed with vaccinating? There's a lot of interesting books and video series' out there. Dr Tenpenny has some fabulous stuff. The book we started with in our house was called "Vaccines are they really safe and effective" By Neil Miller. It's an easy read and full of really good info and almost all of his info is cited and many of the references are medical journals.
There isn't a vaccine out there that is considered safe. What about delaying until 2 and talk about the blood brain barrier that has not been developed yet.
What about getting the manufactures insert for both vaccines and reading them before you inject the child with them?
Vaccinating at 2 months is not delayed vaccination; the only vaccine offered at birth is the Hep B vaccine.
I'd pass along the Tenpenny video, the question list, and perhaps a copy of Dr. Cave's book.

Absolutely true!.
I would not do it. Your daughter needs to really look at this information and delay everything until she has.

first, i think it is wonderful that although you do not see eye to eye with her on this, that you respect her decision, or at least will live with it. some mom's aren't that way (heck, my mom is the opposite, i'm the devil for selective vaxing my child...)
second, i agree with the other posters. if nothing else, ask her to wait, and really research it. maybe that means that some night you need to get together and show her the sites and information on the vax's. reading the inserts can be helpful.
the big thing that i find really hits home for lots of mom's i have talked to... is researching the diseases that the vax is for, and then do like all mom's do with most situations... weigh the benefits (if there are any) with the risks. and really, take into consideration the chances of the baby contracting any of the diseases.

I am so grateful to my mother 9and my crazy little brother:) for planting a seed of doubt about safety and nessesity of vaccines in my heart in mind ! Even thought she lives overseas, i called her a few days before DD was due with her 2 months pedi's visit and she tried to convice me to delay the vaccines , since way back when i was a kid, and even my brother, in Ukraine (USSR at the time) they didn't give that many vaccines and that early. We texted and called back and for for a day, and i decidedto wait. Then researched the subject, now you can call me antivaccine.
Don't underestimate your influence as a mother on your daughter even though she is a mother herself now. I have come to find out that most of the time my parents were right about stuff. And i wish i listened to some things they told me.
Just talk to your daughter and put it in the prespective that as the other poster said, 2 months old is not delayed vaccination. I thought i'd dealy until 6 months... then i realized that DD was still so little, and by that time i alreadycame to conclusion that vaccinations are wrong.
These links to Dr.Tenpenny's videos should be very helpful.
Good luck grandma!
My daughter has so many mixed feeling regarding the whole vaccine thing. Some people are telling her that she is putting her baby at risk by not vaccinating him and that there is no real evidence that states the they are not safe and that they cause autism. However, I strongly feel the opposite. I'm totally against giving them, especially at such an early age. I don't know but I just have a strong mother instinct that tells me that they are not safe.

Has she seen this video yet? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OORHqEedtUY&feature=player_embedded . It is basically set up as a college lecture. There is a DVD, but it's about $25.
Also, you could give her Dr. Sears or Dr. Cave's book.
Autism is merely an term that discribes a set of symptoms; it is not a virus or bacteria. There may be several ways of ending up with the same symptoms.

It could help if you print out the product inserts. I like to emphasize that vaccines are drugs and the manufacterers are protected from liability by the government; that you cannot sue them directly if your baby is harmed by their vaccine.
