Never Thought Twice About My Decision

The past few months and all the stories from mothers  i  have been reading, have gotten me to thinking about when my own kids were babies/toddlers, and how i NEVER questioned my decision as far as vaxing goes.  i made the decision before internet, before all the fearmongering on the 'net started and a person actually had to read books to educate themselves on the issue.  With all the hoax websites out there and the misinformation being passed around like its the Bible, its no wonder parents today are faced with so many different attitudes behind the vaccine issue.

How would you have made your decision if there were no internet available for immediate answers?   Who would you trust for info?

I don't know.  My research paper was on vaccines.  I was never going to do the MMR, but never really thought of the others.  Had no clue there were so many.  I wouldn't have let them do so many at one time, but probably would have done some.  I was even conscidering the DTaP even after my research started bc I was so scared of pertussis and tetanus.  I did some more research and realized I didn't need them.  I was scared of polio, but did find out how it has not exited in 30+ years. (naturally not vax aquired) in the western hemisphere.  I wouldn't have done as much research without the internet.  I don't think I would  have found the same information.  I would have trusted the doctors.

My mom researched this for my siblings and myself long before the internet era so my first information was from her.

I had a mistrust of drs before the internet existed....and as far as info on the internet,  i think it would still be the same, just harder to find, as it is much older now, altho some websites do archive some things.   I also think parents can also get too much information when trying to make a decision in a certain amount of time, and that can be too confusing.

Well I was thinking I wouldn`t get the same info bc I wouldn`t be able to put as much time into it at library. I can research from my phone. I can find out information as soon as it is released. Without it, I may have found out too late. I have never trusted the drug companies, but did trust the doctors.

i come from a long line of non-vaxers! its simply uneccesary, unnatural, plus, it goes against every maternal instinct to let someone jab a needle into my child. full of viruses, bacteria, and chemicals, no less!

even before i learned WHAT was in vaccines, i chose to not vaccinate. oh man, you couldve heard my relief when i read that vaccines contained aluminum, mercury, antibiotics, carcinogenic agents, and were regularly contaminated with other viruses, like the SV-40 and some other swine virus.

Ditto. Info I learned after the fact just reinforced my decision.

The internet is what opened my eyes to the actual ingredients inside vaccines. I was disgusted I was putting the same chemicals I can find under the kitchen sink into my childrens bodies and stopped immediately. I was one of those people who followed blindly to every doctors order without questioning and researching it myself.

I am terrified to think that I most likely would still be vaccinating if it werent for the internet.

My neighbor gave me a book by Tim oshea, my sister had fainting spells and leg problems after her HPV shots and my dog died from a rabies shot, all while I was pregnant with my first. The evidence was obvious to me.
