if you are choosing not to get your kids vaxed, do you still get your boosters? or do you forgo them? i.e. your tetanus shot, hep vaccines, ect.
i'm asking because i applied to a school for veterinary assistance. i just learned that one of the requirements is a tetanus booster, since you'll be working with animals. that made me realize that it's probably a requirement out in the job force, too, when working with animals. but i don't vax my kids because i've read up on the ingredients that go into vaccines. it's disgusting the crap they get away with putting in them. i don't want that in my body, either, so i don't my boosters. but now i'm rethinking it because of school and getting a job... i'm torn :/
WWYD?

I would see about getting an exemption.
The last time I got the tetanus shot (2004) I had pain in my arm for several months (soreness and stiffness). From what I am told and have read - most likely my reaction will get worse each time I get another one.
I would not get one.
I do not get any, but I'm not totally against all vaccines. If I was in a highrisk place, or my kids were, we would consider getting a vaccine for a specific disease etc.
The last shot I got was the first part of Gardisil - I think I was 19. Didn't know any better. Got home and my mom was soooooo upset lol. Didn't go back for the rest and haven't gotten any since.
i'm sure i could get an exemption from school, but not from future jobs. :/
Quoting micheledo:I would see about getting an exemption.

Nope, last time I got a tetnus shot I had a reaction and ran a fever for several days and now have weakness in that arm. No more shots for me.
i also just learned that the TB test, yet another requirement for school, contains phenol-- which is toxic. awesome. especially since i got 2 of these done while pregnant with my son. i hope i can get a blood test as an alternitive. same with my kids when they enter school-- otherwise, it's home schooling for them.
