I'm from NY and I don't want to continue vaccinating my children. My first child has had some vaccinations, my youngest has not. I know that NY is a tough state to get vax exemptions and I want my kids to be able to attend public school.  How did you get around this? How difficult was it? I still have some time before this will be an issue but I want to be prepared

Well my first was born in nyc and I lived there my whole life, but we moved to another state (PA) when she was 3 months old. I want to go back but am actually sorta scared because I've heard it's so tough. Have seen video online of parents being questioned... More like interrogated... About their religious beliefs by school staff. Definitely get a lawyer. Gl

1 mom liked this

I live in NY and I was able to obtain a religious exemption for the 2012-2013 school year when my son will enter kindergarten.  The exemption is also for my child in first grade who is vaxxed up to two but will not have anymore ever.

I wrote my letter with the help of Gary Krasner and it was approved the day the principal received it.  He called me himself to tell me it was approved.

It all depends on the principal of the school whether the exemption is approved or not.

Thanks, I was scared thet I would be forced to vax. When I was looking into it online, it said the NYS was the toughest state to get vax exemptions for and I saw videos of people being interrogated to get religious exemptions. My first child didn't have reactions to the vaccinations she has received but it's a risk I really don't want to take anymore, now that I have learned more about them
