I live in albertville, al and am wanting to find a pediatrician that will go along with my decision to space out vaxs or to not do any more of them if that is what I decide.  My daughter is 17 mo old and had all vaxs up til 12 mo old.  I am more and more uncomfortable with the vaxs the more research I see.  It is one of the only things I really worry about with her.  She is very healthy, and the last shots she had, she had a higher than normal fever and not long after had horrible diarrhea.  The dr said it was a stomach virus going around, but I had the same thing for just 3 days.  She had diarrhea and then vomiting on and off for 3 wks.  Does anyone know of a dr in my area i can take her to?

I am reposting this since I got no response the first time.  Does anyone know HOW I can find out about a pediatrician without calling every dr?

I'm sorry I can't really help (I live in IN) but for me I just had to start calling. I know that's a big pain but no one lived around me also so that's what I did. Good luck and have a good week!

AL Sheffeild Dr. Das S. Kanuru (256-386-4300)

This is the only one we have listed in AL..

You very well may have to call all the Peds in the book to find one who will respect your position as a parent.

I would suggest calling a midwife or Chiro and seeing who they would recommend.. And there is always the Family Doctor.

Remember, Well Baby Visit are designed around the shot schedule. No shots, no appointments.. My kiddos go for a yearly physical.

I live in FL.  I just had to call around and find one.  It was a head ache.  But the one I found does vacc.  She just respects me as a mother and continues to care for my baby.  He is 5 mo old.  I understand some moms saying they do not need a ped since they are not vacc.  But this is not the case for me.  My son has severe reflux, torticolus and RSV.  So I need a ped.  she has to refer me to see all these specialist.  Good luck.  It will be hard to find a ped who does not vacc.  I would just go and interview them.  I just had to find one who respected me as a mother for trying to do what I thought was best for my baby... even though they did not think the same!  Stay strong!

Has your baby been to a chiropractor?  My dh is a chiropractor and has had great success with torticolis.  He adjusts babies as soon as they are born because the birth process itself can be traumatic to the spine.

I would be glad to help in locating a "good" chiropractor in your area.  I read some posts on your page and see that your baby is due for surgery.  Is it for the torticolis?

I too live in AL, near Mobile. We moved here almost a year ago. I'm taking my kids to a pediatrician here for the first time tomorrow, just for a yearly check up. I had to just call around and ask if they would take my kids, being the non-vaxers that we are. I think I called maybe five different offices before I found this one. Yes, it's a pain. I also take my kiddo's to a chiro, she did recommend a doc but he is not taking new patients under two, my daughter just turned a year. So as others suggested you could call a local chiro to see if they know of a doc in your area, or you'll have to just get out the phone book and start calling. Good luck!
