Okay I'm confused, isn't infant tetanus caused by dirty conditions and usually occurs when the umbilical cord or stump gets infected...? And is it the mother getting the tetanus vaccines that prevents it or is it the infant because I didn't think that infants got the tetanus vaccine until they are older...I feel like an idiot, for a mom that doesn't vax her kids I feel like I should understand this...can someone who has seen this commercial make sense of it for me.

Tetanus vaccine is part of DTaP. So people who vaccinate on schedule start giving it at 2 months.

Yes, you're right.  We give tetanus here because in 3rd world countries it is needed since they use dirty stuff to cut the umbilical cord and "treat" it.  It gives the babies tetanus and they die.  So, since we do it to them, we should do it to us.   AKA- make more money.
