do you do them?
why or why not?
i have my sons 4month one scheduled w/ the dr of the family practice (not the phy. assistant who i saw last time and was a TOTAL bitch about me not vaxxing...) but i was wondering why to do /not do them?
thanks! :)
Not sure if you quoted me to respond to what I posted, but I am very aware of my children's carseat limitations. I am a bit narotic when it comes to carseat safety lol, which is why I told the other poster to check her manual, bc most infant carriers only go 20 lbs and then you have to switch them to a rf converitble seat, which give you more time to rf. I didn't tell her all, just wanted to make that clear :)

The heights AND weights on each infant carseat varies GREATLY now. I know MANY that do have them that go to 30lbs, so definitelly be aware of your own carseat's manual on the limitations.
I would also suggest the weighing yourself and then her BUT the problem with this is that it is often off up to 1-3 lbs this way unforunately and CAN vary by how you even hold her!!
I have a baby scale I purchased when my little guy was born so this helps me, he is still near impossible to weight and don't cooperate real well...OOPSIE!

Just wanted to add a response to what I highlighted. What about you weighing yourself and then holding her and subtracting your weight? Also, for the carseats, I am a huge advocated of RF as long as possible, but to know when you need to switch, just read your carseat manual and the height/weight requirements. For instance, if your dd is still in an infant carrier carseat, then the limit is probably 20 lbs (not sure of the height). You can always switch her to a toddler convertible seat, most of those go rf to at lease 33-40 lbs depending on which on you get :)

We were selectivly vaccinating until Ella turned 12 months, and we couldn't get the mumps seperate from the MMR. No one in the tri-state area ofers it! So, I researched more and now we are done. No more shots for my kiddo.
I am over due for her 15 month appointment... she will be 16 months at the time. I just want to go because I want to check her weight and I had a few other questions. I can't keep her on a scale here and I want to be sure she is still able to rear face in our carseat... or if we need to get that new one just yet :)
My newborn will be doing them and my son did them. My son was selectively vaccinated but I like being able to take him to a doctor when there's an issue. A lot of doctors will give you problems if they haven't seen you outside of being sick so I try to avoid that argument. I wish we didn't have to go all the time, though, because we're seeing "doctors" on base now and they're not even doctors. Ugh.
We pretty much left the mainstream medical community after my son was d'xed with autism in october last year, we see an osteopathic doctor or DAN! doc who is a family doctor that does conventional and holistic medicine, takes most insurances and is more than ok with not vaxxing! If you go to the DAN! website you can get a list of the doctors in your area, you dont have to have autism to see these doctors since they are osteopathic family doctors-at least most of them. It just isnt worth it for us to go to a mainstream peditrician since none of them know anything about autism and how to treat my son whether he is sick or well.
My daughter went to them until she was 6 months but after an argument [a loud argument] with the pediatrician, we stopped going. She's 2 now and completely healthy and happy. They are not needed. If you weigh your baby and measure her yourself, that works. I think mothers can tell if something is wrong anyway. I know I could.
