My DD already takes a multi vitamin, but I would like to start having her take extra vitamin C to keep her immune system stronger with this up coming flu season. Would it be better for her to get it through foods, or taking a supplement? If I buy a supplement, is there a particular brand anyone can recommend? I was looking at the Highlands Vitamin C Tablets.
We take vitamin C, but I think Vitamin D is just as important to protect your family too. We take tablests and we also take colloidal siver to protect us all against colds and flu. We use Central market brand for our vitamins, but that brand is local. You can only get it in HEB's in Texas and Oklahoma.
My kids take a chewable, it's by Nature's Plus, called Love Buff's. Crap free...lol Gluten Free, Vegan, wheat, soy, dairy free, hypo allergenic. I get it from our Health food store. I don't give it everyday, when they are sick or when flu season comes (which is soon!), I will most likey do it every other week.
Yes, at it cools down I will give Vit D3. We live in CA so we have lots and sun and are out in it a bit every day. It's usually sunny hear until at least November... most years anyway.
We use Sodium Ascorbate and dissolve it in our LO's drink.
I am also curious about supplements.
Of course it is best for them to get the vitamins through their food, but that is not always possible.
Whenever I have asked, I have always been told to breastfeed. Well, I stopped a long time ago and I still haven't gotten great specific recommendations as to what I could give a 10 month old. I'm still searching around the group ;)
I'm really curious about colloidal silver as well, especially with all the hype as far as putting it in their eyes go. I don't know much about it.
