I think it is safe to drink, as long as you pump and dump your milk for a few times after you drink. The amount that you throw away depends on the amount that you drink, and how long it's been since your last drink. Some people think that it's alright to BF if you've only had a drink or so, but I would not chance it. Throw away the milk just to be on the safe side. You can always pump an extra supply and keep it in the fridge before hand, so you won't run out of milk while you are drinking and throwing it away.  :-)

It's safe to drink (dependingn how much and how often you drink).  My doctor said one glass of wine or beer can help with milk if you don't have more than one a week.  He also went on about how I didn't need to worry about it being passed on to my son if I had not breast fed in the 2 hours before.

As for medication...always talk to you doctor before taking anything... even over the counter meds.

You can drink one to two drinks and it is okay. any more and it will take longer for it to get outta your system. It takes as long to leave your milk as it does your blood.

I drink occasionally what I do is pump enoigh before hand and bottle feed when he gets hungry if its while I had a drink. I will not put him to the breast until I feel totally sober. Not that hard thats of course if your baby will take a bottle which my son now does. They say pump and dump is a myth and doesnt move the alcohol from your milk it goes by how long the alcohol stays in the blood but of course if you are going to be drinking for several hours it would be smart to pump and dump anyway to relieve engorgement and not mess with your supply.
