Educating Parents about Protecting Children from Harmful Environmental Exposures

 

In a partnership between LUNA^®, The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women^®, and Stroller Strides^®, LUNA Moms Club^® powered by Stroller Strides is hosting a Healthy Home Party in Bend on Thursday, June 12. LUNA Moms Club is a national moms club focused on supporting, connecting and empowering active and health-conscious moms. The purpose of a Healthy Home Party is to educate parents on how to create a healthier home environment for children and families.

 

With the help from Healthy Child Healthy World, the national leader in protecting the health and wellbeing of children from harmful environmental exposures, these parties are a time for moms (and dads) to come together to take easy steps to live their lives in a safer, greener and healthier way. Parties will include information on Healthy Child Healthy World’s “5 Easy Steps” to a healthier home, what products to purchase to help take these steps, as well as recipes to make their own household cleaning products.

 

Credible scientific evidence increasingly points to environmental hazards and household chemicals as causing and contributing to many chronic childhood diseases and illnesses. This is why between April and June more than 400 LUNA Moms Clubs are hosting Healthy Home Parties in their community. The objective of these parties is to raise awareness and educate members and the community at large about how they can reduce their families’ exposure to common contaminants and ensure their homes are as healthy as possible for their children.

There are more than 400 LUNA Moms Clubs powered by Stroller Strides across the country. LUNA Moms Clubs support, connect and empower new moms while making a positive difference in their local communities. They host weekly playgroups, monthly Moms’ Nights Out and quarterly “Moms with a Mission” activities, such as Healthy Home Parties.
