Baby Momma / Baby Daddy? WTF!?!

Is it just me or does the term Baby Momma and Baby Daddy send a gut renching chill down your spine? I absolutely HATE that title. Mother/Father of my child or my child's Mom/Dad just sounds better over all. Hell, call him sperm donor for all I care just not Baby Daddy!  I see that term as degrading and just ghetto!

For example, the song by Fantasia. I totally understand and appreciate the message that she is trying to send out. But the term Baby Momma is NOT a "badge of honor" for me. Being a **Single Mom** however, is.

Am I alone on this?

If I ever found out that my "sperm donor" refered to me as his "baby mama" I would rip him a new one real quick.
He doesn't deserve the title of "father/dad".....just a sperm donor.
I'm a single mother and nothing less.

My mom and aunt would call my baby's father "baby daddy" I hated it. After a couple times I got mad and yelled he has a name use it. I hate it, they never call him that anymore its either Joe or  Kit's father.

Actually i just had words with my sons father over this. He has multiple children by different women and refers to us as his "baby mommas", like his own little harem. HELL NO! I am no one's baby momma. I'm a mother to my children. I am nothing to him.

Ok, I am going to have to put myself in the minority here.

I really have to say that I couldn't care less about the term at all.  I know who I am and what I am, and those words do not define me because I will not let them.  I certainly am not going to cause any drama because of it!

I guess there is a reason the term evokes certain images, but that is only if you LET it...

i agree to disagree with that term.  i never liked it and i usually say "my sons father".  wen ever people refer to baby momma/daddy its always in a degrading way like u said. thought i was the only one who felt that way.

I hate that terminology too!!!  My BF refers to me as that when he's teasing because he knows I detest it.  I certainly don't refer to him as my baby daddy.

As for my son's father, I try not to refer to him at all.
