Chronic pain

Does anyone else deal with it?? A couple of my friends keep telling me to ask my doctor about getting disability. I haven't, and not sure how I feel about that. I know my pain is holding me back in the job world because I can't just take any job. My doctor isn't much of a help. I asked her for 1 refill last month and she said no. She said since it's chronic pain that she thinks I should see the pain clinic. I went there once when DS was a baby and got a shot, via an epidural. It didn't work.

I'm in so much pain some days that it keeps me from getting things done. I have prominent scoliosis in my back, as well as a bulged disc and arthritis. I'm like a walking bowl of Rice Krispies. My left hip has bothered me for some time now. On top of that yesterday, in the middle of our walk my right hip was in excruciating pain, and still is. My pain meds aren't working. I just want to cry, and know what the hell is wrong with me :o(

I've never had to deal with it...:(

I think you should see another dr if you don't feel like you're getting what you need from this one.  Hugs hun!

I have chronic pain, but not as bad as yours. Have you seen a specialist? I would get a second opinion and find out if you could get disabilitly. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

I think maybe you need to see an orthopedic surgeon or someone else who specializes in back injuries. Have you seen a chiropractor? Sometimes they are able to work some magic or refer you to someone who can help you. And if you are unable to work due to pain, you might want to think about disability....at least partial. good luck and I hope someone is able to fix you!

Get re-evaluated!  Even if you have to be seen in Pain Management, you can't let yourself live like that!  If chronic pain is interefering w your work performance, I would personally apply for disability - you will not be approved the first time, but think about how much easier your life could be if you didn't have as much pain thanks to some pain meds, and maybe didn't have to work full time because you're getting help from disability?

I know what you're going through. I've had Fibromyalgia for over 10 years and have been on disability for 5. The pain never stops and I've used some narcotics, but am now trying to live without them and it's not easy! I agree that a pain management dr. might help you. I had some luck with mine. If you ever need to talk or vent, please pm me...people that don't have chronic pain don't understand what we going through.

I do have a chiro, and I love her to death, but it just doesn't seem to help, and I don't pop easily either.
