GETTING HARDER & HARDER TO FIND WORK AS I GET OLDER

hI GUYS, need to vent.  I responded to an ad for a hostess for a lounge.  I thought well i could do that.  Its part time, the hours are great.  So I went in for an interview.  Well to my surprise there were at least twenty other ladies there waiting for an interview and can I tell you they all looked about twenty two and dressed in as little clothing as possible ( I live in Las Vegas). I was humiliated. I thought I looked pretty good when I left the house, but after seeing those girls I felt like a dumpy old auntie. The manager quickly gave everyone the once over, asked me "do you have any experience as a hostess" I said no, but I was going to say I'm a great people person, I love customer service, etc. But before I could get a word out, he says "Sorry but we can't use you".

Well needless to say, I left with my tail in between my legs, and trying to hold in my tears.  I havent' lived in Vegas that long, so now I've learned my lesson. When they say hostess or waitress, they really mean young eye candy.  So here I am in my pjs...

Well have you tried finding a job in a "family" style restaurant?  Are there any ethnic restaurants or diners?

I need to actually stop by the restaurants that i think i would feel comfortable working at.  so no I haven't actually done that much pounding the pavement.  Most of my dealings are online apps, which haven't yielded that much success.

I do want to go back, but im not sure if timing is right. I have another part time job, so I might wait till my youngest is four (another two years). That way I know I can devote the time and energy to school. right now all i do is take care of kids and work.

There are plenty of other places in Vegas.  Don't get discouraged just yet.
