I have an extremely heavy period. I soak the most absorbent pad at a rate of one per hour and have difficulty leaving the house, due to frequent accidents. Yesterday I had embarrassing issues at work.
Every three months or so when I do get a period I feel nutty. Like I want to drop everything and escape, or I want to break everything in the house. All the doctor did was prescribe me bc pills. Which I didn't start until Sunday because I hadn't had a period in 3 months. I'm about ready to say f*ck it and let them cut it all out. I don't know what to do.

Have you had an ultrasound to see if you have fibroids? My mom had fibroid tumors in her uterus and they were removed laproscopically and it reduced her super heavy bleeding and she had what you are describing. Also when I was 11 I started my first period and between then and 13 I had periods like you describe and I'd have major cramps and super heavy flow for 12 days. I finally went on the pill for two years age 13-15 and got off and my periods reduced to 7 days and normal.

No, i havent. Maybe I need to see a gynecologist instead of the woman I see now. I will have to be more vocal because she blew off my complaints when I saw her. I'd like to be checked more thoroughly.

How long did you take the pills before things became regular for you?

i took birth control from age 13-15 so about 2 years. But if it is a different problem like fibroids you need it checked out. Especially since you are an adult. I would definitely see a gyno.
