Is there any reason for you NOT to have your children?

So you really have nothing to worry about. How old are your children?

They rarely ever take away the children from their mother, especially if the entire time they have been with you. They will probably give you sole custody and him visitation unless...

Did you get the police involved with the whole knife incident? Because of there was a restraining order or police report on it he might get supervised visits.

I lived with my ex and my kids and he was very abusive. We lived there almost a year and I moved 300 miles away after I had enough. They tried to take my kids away since I moved so far and because I had a residence with him over 6 months. Luckily I had an awesome lawyer and I got physical custody and he gets visitation.

So I honestly think you have nothing to worry about. Make sure you dont go psycho in court lol. Just stay controlled, bring all your evidence on why you should have them full time and with the jail on his record, I can't see a good outcome for him. Good luck mama, stay calm the ball is in your court.

If the incident is documented, you'll almost certainly end up with physical custody.  Whether or not he has regular visitation or supervised visitation will depend on any evidence you reguarding how likely he is to be a danger to the children.

There's a good chance he'll get joint legal though, in most states.

Yes these ladies are correct.  I know you are nervous...I was too...and I knew I was doing all the right things..courts no matter who's right or wrong is just terrible on peoples nerves. You will be fine :)
