Noah Wyle Arrested in Washington, D.C., Protest

Noah Wyle Arrested in Washington, D.C., Protest | Noah Wyle

Noah Wyle

NationalADAPT/AP; Inset: Zuma

Former ER star Noah Wyle has been arrested.

The actor was pictured in handcuffs where he and more than 100 other people were arrested during a protest at Capitol Hill on Monday.

Wylie and members of the group ADAPT were urging Congress not to cut Medicaid. The protesters were handcuffed in the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building, according to the Associated Press.

ADAPT maintains that cuts in Medicaid would force elderly people and those with disabilities out of their homes and into nursing homes to get services they require.

Wyle is best known for his role as John Carter on NBC's hit medical drama ER. And, it was just about a month ago that another former ER star was arrested in D.C.: George Clooney found himself in the back of a secret service van after a Sudan protest.

people get arrested for the most absurd reasons. reminds me of the 60s. hope Im not "dating" myself, but really.  i generally dont get involved in politics b/c ppl do what they want to do, as long as THEY are okay.  the rest of us just suffer at their hands.

Good for him! I'm glad he was apart of the protest! And I hope his arrest raises awareness about the reality of what's going on with our elderly and disabled! My mom has worked since she was about 16yrs old, she's now 49. Last sept she fell and broke her ankle and has had complications ever since. She is now officially disabled and can barely stand for more than a couple hours on end. It is because of her hard earned tax dollars and years working that she was able to pay into programs like these. She lost her insurance when she couldn't go back to work, because she couldn't afford it. And now she is on disability and waiting for her ssi to kick in. Unfortunately I can't pay for private insurance, either. So I have my daughter enrolled into healthy families (it's a program here in california) and I'm enrolled in with the va since I'm prior military. I'm grateful for programs like these, or I'd be totally f*ed regardless of the fact that I served this country, and regardless of the fact that I work/full time student...

Yay!! He is awesome for doing that. Still cute.
Personally, I think that's a better way of getting attention than a stupid reality show.

Its went out the window when socialism came in. Although, I find it highly ironic that he was arrested while excercising his constitutional right of freedom of speech regarding a program that is highly unconstitutional in nature.

I agree ladies..what happened to freedom of speech? The only thing I can think is that maybe he and the rest of the protestors were violating laws as far as where they were protesting. But still..ridiculous. This is for a good cause...I see elderly come in and out of our office everyday and it's sad to think that one day they could become uninsured.

Yes Maam! I'm sorry about your Mom:(. That's rough. It's sad when there are situations like this and it's like if you take away these programs, what are these people going to do? I understand that there are people who abuse the system...let's try and weed them out (if possible---how Florida is now drug tests for welfare maybe?) and give it to the people who need it like your Mom and you! I have my son on CHIP's to help out...only form I qualify for unfortunately...I don't want to be on it but I need the help right now. He's going to have a big surgery this summer. And has ongoing ENT issues.
