Politics...How/Where do you educate yourself??

I hate the fact that I am well educated in most areas except politics.  I hate wading through all the crap to get to what I want to find out about politicians, laws, etc.  I've tried numerous websites, news casts, etc.  So, tell me where you find out what you want to know about politics and more importantly how do you know its correct??  Meaning, not skewed left or right..

1. The news like CNN. Not local news channels

2. I look at .gov websites for statistics

3. I look at my environment and see what's going on.

4. Watch the candidates every time they are on tv.

I don't follow the mainstream media for my news sources.  I'm more right leaning but am left leaning on social issues.  I prefer to get my sources directly from government sites, reading on-line articles from the AP and pretty much have my own personal views on politics.

The library, your local congress office, getting involved with your political affiliates.  The newspaper, news.

I start with the party's website. I also listen to NPR, and read online whenever I can.
