I will be graduating with my masters in speech language patholog this August and already have an interview on Tuesday! I did an externship at a cerebral palsy school and the principal wants me to work there :) the only problem is that the SLP that is retiring is staying on board part time until the end of the year so the director doesn't want to hire me until January. I won't wait that long for a job though and I think the principal realizes that sp she wants to hire me full time for September. The only thing is we are going to be discussing salary and money stuff Tuesday so im a little nervous. I want what I worked hard for but I feel like the director will try to low ball me. I just need the courage to speak up and negotiate for what I want. Does anyone have any tips for me!?!?

No real advice other than research what similar positions offer salary wise and stick to a range close to that. And congrats to you!

I agree with Jeni1124 about doing some research first. And remember you are new in the field so the pay may be a little lower. And mostly CONGRATS! That's awesome. I've seriously thought of going back to school to get my degree in that field.

Congrats.
Do your research and remember schools always pay less than working at a hospital or for an insurance company.
