People are always trying to figure you out at a new job. What's my story? Why am I a single mom? How can I possibly do it? IDK, is it me, or is there some sort of Single mom angst out there?

I would say they just want to get to know you.  Sounds so trivial, when friendship would be the keyword.  It's difficult to do sometimes. I guess.

Thanks. Maybe it is me. I just get comments sometimes like "your ex is out of state, so did you ever live there?" or the old "I'm just so in awe of what you have to go through" type of stuff. When they don't know me, and I don't talk about it. Maybe they care, but it seems strange.

People are always curious about others who have a different lifestyle.  Just grin and show them that you really can do it all.
