Is it wrong to sell something my dd's dad bought her?

My dd is 13, and currently doesn't see or talk to her father. I don't know if she ever will again, as I have quit making her go on visits with him, and he has not tried to contact her to get her to change her mind. I'm just telling that so everyone will understand the current situation. Anyway, a few years ago, he had bought her a bedroom set -bunk bed and dresser from RoomsTo Go Kids. She thinks the set is too young now, and she wants a new bedroom set. I was considering posting it on craigslist and trying to sell it. Am I wrong to do that? He had told me when he bought it that if we no longer wanted it, to let him know and he would come get it, but considering the animosity right now, I doubt he would offer to buy her a new bedroom set, and so I need the money from selling it to buy her a new one. He always got mad at me in the past if he had bought her anything and I later got rid of it. I don't understand that. Did he expect me to keep every toy or other items forever? Evem if she no longer used it? Is it unfair for me to get rid of items he bought? I'm not doing it to get money for myself. I use the money to buy my dd more things she needs or wants.

Any judge will tell you that once you give a gift your control over the item is gone. You can't take it back or demand the value of it. Since your daughter is a minor, you have control over her possessions. In other words, sell the set and do the same with her outgrown toys. If he complains, tell him it was a gift and yours to do with as you saw fit.
