So since my separation 3 Weeks ago I moved in with my parents who had 2 big empty rooms one was mine growing up. The kids eat there at most 4 days and I usually eat there 2 nights a week. What do you think is a decent and fair amount fort me to pay a month?

Sit down with your parents and figure out how much more their bills have increased since you all have been staying there. Make sure to talk about also trying to save a little money to eventually get your own place. Im in a very similar situation at my sisters staying with my daughter. I basicslly pay for what i use. Theyre bills went up about 150$ a month for water power etc, n that is what i pay. I also contribute food as we all eat together, but i am not alwaus here so i only put mobey for food when i eat here for several days. At most i pay 100 more for food, but i get food stamps and we have a system. My sister n her husband knew my goal was to save for my own place so we looked at the bills and came up with a number that helped everyone. I have my own room n we wrote up a rental agreenent to make it more official. It has so far worked really well. Just slways be honest and dont over extend yourself, u gta take care of u n your children. It will help also to pay enough for what u use as u get an idea of what n how much u need n can learn ur budget. Hope this helps.

Ask how much they need and save the rest for a deposit on your own place.

Damn..that's fucked. My parents would never expect me to pay them. They always say I'm always welcome. Id pay for food and help with electric and all but rent? That's crazy.

Yeah. That would hurt me that they couldn't just let me get on my feet. It's really quick to be asking for a bunch of money. Good luck with everything. I would probably be separated too right now if I could even begin to support myself.

My folks would never ask for rent. But I think $500 is fair if they are covering utilities, food, housing, etc... Food alone for me and two kids is $700 a month.
