Well...I did some digging on facebook and found his mother and his brother...a part of me wants to contact them and tell them that they are going to have a granddaughter/niece.
I have a feeling it would start shit, but I feel that they need to know whether or not they care or not...
They also live across the country

No you shouldn't. That's his Fam and his responsibility to advise them.
What If they get on him and all of a sudden he wants his rights just to spite you ? If he genuinely wanted them yea that's better. It just cuz you told his business, no.
It just opens a can of worms.
Do you know why he doesn't talk to them? That piece of information could help sway your decision one way or the other. I wouldn't contact them, you never know what their situation is or what problems can arise from it. Clearly you already don't have the support of the father so focusing on a support system you have around you would be a better than chasing after someone else's family.

He doesn't talk to them though...from my pov they should know about their soon to be family ya know?

They dont talk because hes a failure in life...hasnt ever had a real job, ditched the last kid he had across the country and is now hiding while living with his grandparents (learned all of this AFTER I left him)
Im not expecting their support or anything and they live across the country, Ive had a few people tell me that they'd like to know if they were going to have an added member to their family if they were in this situation.
I can understand how it could cause problems, which is why I havent contacted them

idk if this is the case here but a lot of times, people are losers because they come from losers. people are drama creators cuz they grew up around it.
In my situation, I knew bd's family and they all knew I was pregnant. Some of them were supportive and a few of them attacked me trying to get me to terminate. When I cut bd out of mine and ds' life I did so to his family as well. Not to punish them but to close off any window bd might have to us. My reasoning is solely for the protection of my ds. So while yes your situation is different like faerie75 said, he may use his family access as well to spite you.
