My daughter is 11 months old. Lately when she wakes up in the middle of the night for a bottle (trying to break this habit too) she will finish the bottle and fall asleep while i rock her. As soon as i put her in her crb she wakes right up and wants to rock more and sleep in my arms. We do this every night for at least an hour of me rocking her, laying her in her crib, and her waking right up. What's the deal? She was just starting to sleep through the night when we moved back to my moms and it took her a few weeks to adjust to a new room. My ex was getting her and she would fall asleep in the car on the way to his house. I don't know if waking up in a unfamiliar place with him would do this. he hasn't seen her in two weeks. I just want to sleep! She is cranky a lot more too since she has been doing this.
Yes. We moved into my mom's about 5 months ago. About four months ago my son was doing the same thing. He would be sound asleep in my arms, then the second I laid him in his crib, his eyes would pop open and he would start screaming. BEing in a different surrounding is a good explanation for it. I just tossed it up to a phase. (He was about 10 months when he was doing it.) He grew out of it. Lasted for about a month, then it just stopped. Now I could put him in his crib even before he fully falls asleep and he go to sleep by himself. My little guy (now 14 months) still wakes up almost every night at 2:30 for another ba. He stands up in his crib and starts yelling "Baaa baaa baaa" Like he can't stand to go another second without his trusted friend ba. ha ha ha. I also have gotten into a horrible habit of bringing him into my bed while giving him his ba. I know it's wrong and I never did it while I was living with my ex. And I said I'd never do it but it's happening and I'm not sure when I'll break him of that habit. I think it's more my bad habit than his...I kinda like him sleeping in bed with me. (I also have three dogs who all sleep with me. So it's a pretty crowded bed. ha ha ha.)
Maybe she is teething? Check to see if any incoming teeth are cutting in.
