Okay. So BD and his family are driving me crazy! He threatens to take me to court with any little fight we have, his parents are trash talking me and threatening to come beat me up (I won't let them see my DD due to severe drug and alcohol problems), and its stressing me out. I am young, we are not married, and I DON'T want him in my life and even my DDs because he has severe anger problems. Always has and I don't ever see him changing. I want full custody of DD and I want to move FAR away from them. So I'm like 99% sure I can bull shit my way into BD signing over his rights, or I can take him to court where I'm 99% sure I will win but nervous about him getting rights to visit her which would prevent me from moving away.

So what's better in your opinion? Just to have him sign over his rights or take my luck in the court? Please, no bashing. I'm just trying to explore my options and do what's best for my daughter and me.

Some states wont let him sign his rights over unless there is someone to.adopt. I would get a protection order against adopt and take him to court. Document everything, correspond on emails and texts. Have them printed and take them to court. That way if there is any threats you have proof. Good luck.

No state will allow him to sign rights over.. Last I knew unless you are married and have a husband who will adopt....

Tough situation. How old is the baby? Does he have criminal record? I filed for sole custody a year ago and lost, I also want to move and can't unless bd allows me.

Talk to a lawyer I see it being somewhat of a fight if not from BD but from his family.  Make sure you have evidence in writing etc to back your case.  A judge isn't going to give full custody without proof and they may not even let him sign over his rights unless there is someone to step in and adopt your child

Is he on the birth cert? Since you were never married to him, then you have full custody of your child already. Move and get the hell away from them.

I would say move because if you go to court first you may never have a chance to. Most Likely they won't make you come back if you have your life a stablished some where else like a home and your working.
