I don't bother wearing heels anymore. I rarely do anything with my hair except put it back in a bun. I didn't really think about it until one of my co-workers said "We're moms we don't have to get dressed up." (her son is 12 years. Mine is 14 months.)
And my little guy, always no matter what, will wipe his nose on my shirt or touch my pants after he had just eaten waffles and syrup with his hands. At this age it just isn't worth the hassle to get dressed up. But I hope that by the time my little man is 12 years old, I'll be back in the swing, wearing heels and fun earrings and all that.
Quoting vamom08:
I give myself a shower and I wrap my hair (Black women terms)and I put on clean underwear and bras and sweats and a tank I still look cute that's how dressed up I get if its something important I will put on some vaseline on my lips I will throw on a blazer and a Cami in some skinny jeans and flats .I'm not wearing heels when I have to act like a quarterback to run behind a 3 1/2 year old I have a blazer in every color expect black.lol
I'm TRYING TRYING my best to get back into sprucing up myself a bit...it's a sloooow process....for example, two weeks ago I finally took some time out to do indiviual twists in my hair (takes about 4-5 hours to do)...i dont wear make up often, so when I do it's just foundation, eyeliner, & lipgloss...heels....now that's ANOTHER story lol!with dd being so young i only wear heels when we're going 2 church...so it'll be awhile (btw majority of my shoes are stilletoes...)
I normally dress casual for work and when I'm out with friends. Sometimes I meet them right after work so I'm already dressed in capris, a pull-over top, and flip flops. On the weekends I wear shorts, a tank top and have my have back in a big clip. If I'm asked to go out on the weekends it all depends on where we are going. So far, it's been to a casual dinner and then the movies. I still wear my shorts and tanks with my flip flops. But, I do something with my hair and put on make-up. One never knows when you are being checked out by a dude. I still want to be somewhat made-up for any future dates!
