Only when they were in grade school.  I think one year in Jr Hi.  when I had problems there, never was I going back.  Teachers just weren't my beef.

Don't complain about the school or the teacher if you're unwilling to come to meetings and communicate.
They let us pick or time slot so schedule isn't an issue.

DS isn't in school yet so I never go but once he is I will be at everyone unless there is an emergency and then I will try to get one of my parents or best friend to go for me if that is allowed.

I have never missed one and my son is a junior in hs. Actually, tomorrow is my sons conference. I think it's important to be involved in my sons education and communicate and meet all his teachers.

I had to do mine over the phone because I couldn't get off work that day for it.  When she was in her private school they had more flexible times for their conferences so I went in person, but in the public school they have a very specific time to do the conferences. I'd prefer to go in person but a phone conference is better than no conference at all!
