When you break off a friendship...

with some one you were really close to, do you tell them & why, or do you just ignore them and hope they go away?

I tend to let it fade out. Longer time between phone calls, less invitations to do stuff together, etc.

 It depends. Sometimes friendships fade out and it really wasnt anybodys fault.

Last time I got "rid" of a friend, I told her I wasnt being her friend anymore.

Slowly fade out unless they have just done something so bad it needs to be brought up.

If its because of something they've done, I believe in confronting the person. I want them to know exactly why I dont want anything to do with them. If the friendship ends because we just go off in different directions, I dont ever see the need to explain it.
