Im doing a home DNA test for my son and the guy i tested is acting like im killing him with asking for $80 witch is half. I don't find it that bad and its only fair considering he is the one that won't help till the test comes back. My son is already 3months and he hasn't helped me buy anything.

Go through your local DSS (or your state's equivalent).  They'll usually make child support arrangements for you (if he attempts to fight it, it'll go before a judge who definitely won't order you to pay for the entirety of the DNA test)

It's not free. Someone has to pay for it.

I guess it varies by state. In Louisiana & Tennessee I had some DNA tests done & no one had to pay. One test came up neg & I still didn't have to pay!

I'm saying that it costs SOMEONE money because the kits and testing aren't free. It may be tax payers or rolled into court costs or whatever, but it's not FREE.

Do it through the court. I don't think they acknowledge home test so get an official one and file for CS

I live in Texas for now & they charge the custodial parent to receive child support!!! Now I understand why...

Is it one that is court ordered or that you two are just doing on your own?  If its not court ordered you might want to check and make sure that the court will accept it (for custody/child support) because I don't think they always accept the at home ones but am not for sure.  Good luck!
