I'm starting a full courseload on Monday. I'm taking 5 courses (18 credit hours) and my netbook has been overcharged twice now and it only lasts 45 min before going down to 50%. When I first bought it, it used to last 1hr 15 and it would only be down to 85% ish. I was told to get the Macbook Pro.
I'm only looking at the 13 inch one, but I'm confused at some details...
There are two kinds, the regular kind and the one with retina display. I'm not really looking for anything fancy. I just want something that has a battery that lasts more than at LEAST 2 hours, and people swear theirs stays charged up to 80% with a couple hours of use and if they use it all day it can go up to 4 hours on the maximum performance (like high contrast, applications running, browsing on wifi, etc)
How do your Macbooks treat you? Also, is it better to go with the higher storage capacities? I know the basic 13 inch comes with 128 GB but there's a 13 inch with 256 as well. I just want something I can use Microsoft Word with and surf the web. I don't use it for any fancy music/photo/video editing.

I have a Macbook Pro for work and although it's great for work since I'm in the PR business and need good storage for large media files and for viewing pictures and poster on a better screen. The battery life is ok, I can go a day without needing to charge it but I have had to change the battery back out twice in the three years I had it. I also have a Toshiba that I bought for $350 for my personal use at home, and to be honest with you I find that this laptop works 10 times better then my Macbook which is thousands of dollars. The storage capacity is wonderful, battery last for days even though it's 5 years old, I can run all my Microsoft programs and new add ons with no problem as opposed to my Macbook every time I get an update it ends up deleting something or changing my setting it pisses me off. So I'm not sure if you are willing to consider other laptops brand out there but I feel like you could get more bang for your buck going with something that isn't a apple laptop. Just my personal opinion.
