Have you heard about a bill that the Congress is trying to get passed? They are trying to pass a bill that would ban welfare reciepents from purchasing lottery tickets. They quoted some guy on tv as saying that If the state gives us money to afford the barest of neccessities we shouldn't go out and spend it on unecessary things. What do you think about this bill? and before you ask how would the grocery store know if you are on welfare? If the bill passes the clerk is required to ask you if you are and if you are then they deny the sale! If they are caught selling a ticket to someone on welfare they face a fine of I think $500.
I personally believe that this is a bunch of bull. Simply because my financial status shouldn't matter when I purchase a lottery ticket BUT at the same time I can see where they are coming from. Its like you are being supported by taxpayers so the money you are getting should be used wisely and not on some pipe dream of hoping to win the lottery and strike it rich you know?
What do you say?
First I believe they should test for illegal drugs. I am on PA because I receive no child support state says they can't find him. PFF...He is going to court on criminal charges....Second ..If you remember not to long ago..about a woman who won the lottery and never reported to the state and she kept getting help from them. Her reply was I thought they would take away once I won it but, I still got it so I never said anything. So see why the goverment wants to tighten the strings.

Yes I do remember that story and if I remember correctly she ended up going to jail or having to pay the PA money back because she knew it was wrong to keep the money and yet still recieved food stamps. Also, drug testing sounds like a good idea but what if someone is using medicinal marijuana for an illness or something or would that be considered an exception?
I'm PA because I simply can't afford anything otherwise even though I work 2 jobs. With my one job cutting back hours I am really struggling to make it as it is. My ex pays child support whenever he gets ready so I don't depend on that.
