Was this when the space shuttle blew up? This is 5 years before I was born.

Correct.  The space shuttle Challenger blew up some minutes after take off.  Sad day it  was.

Seeing the Challenger explode 73 seconds into take off was so sad. I never thought I would see anything like this in my lifetime. Then again, 10 years ago, I seen the debris of the Columbia falling from the sky.

I remember this day - 27 years ago.  I actually watched the Challenger take off and, sadly, a mere few minutes into the sky it exploded.  I was 22 years old.

Such a sad day.  I was only 2 1/2 at the time so I don't remember it, but remember learning about it in school and thru my parents.

I remember this, we got to watch the broadcast at school. It was such a big deal, a teacher going into space. I was only 7 so I just remember a lot of confusion and shock about what I saw.
