teens working & Section 8

Posted by   + Show Post

Don't know if this is the right group or even forum to post this, but thought I might ask you ladies that know a thing or 2 about Section 8 a question.  Do you know if Section 8 will count my son's wages into my budget when deciding my rent share?   I am asking this because several years ago a friend of mine was living in the projects (government housing) and when her kids became of age to work summer youth they did & housing figured those wages into her household budget.....I have tried to get hold of my caseworker to ask her & she is never available, only @ recert time and it is no where near my time for that.......my son is not working yet but has put in alot of applications and hopes to get a job soon and I would like to know about this ahead of time so that I can sort of prepare for it.....

I have left several messages for her as well as her super just to inquire about it, but they seem to only be reachable when it is recert time, and that is not any time soon for me....

It may vary by state too. I would definitely check with state worker

They don't count my daughters income. She's 16.
