Age appropriate toys for 4 mo old

My g'son is 4 1/2 mos. He's perfectly on track and is more ahead than behind. He has all the newborn "toys", an activity mat, a cool car like toy with toys hanging within reach, teething rings, soft rattles and toys with all the different textures. He gets real bored with all of it real quickly. He's not quite ready for an Exersaucer (my fav toy ever) and I see nothing new in the stores. So what are we obviously missing?? Ive been here with 2 dds and 2 g'sons and I am totally stumped and clueless.

You are his best toy, and just taking walks with him in a carrier or sling. Kids that age don't really *need* toys, almost to much stimulation at times, kwim?

My kids loved the Fisher Price Laugh n Learn puppy...I see it in Target and Walmart. It sings 10-12 songs, giggles, talks to you. Sooo cute. It was my kids fave toy.
