I am 40, a single mother who owns her house, no thanks to a man, and her car, no thanks to a man, and have actually been with several gold digger MEN that expected me to support them. SO...

#1 = Employed, in a stable career.

#2 = Financially stable (not up to his eyes in debt)

#3 = EMOTIONALLY AVAILABLE... no major baggage to deal with. Someone "complete" on their own

#4 Same life goals.... Family, home, career etc. If you don't have the fundamental foundations the same, it is impossible to make a relationship work.

The rest is negotiable. My man I am dating now, is pretty fantastic. He even quit smoking cold turkey because and I quote "he knew he had to, to have a chance with me" - to which I explained it was not a deal breaker but still  I am happy he is trying to quit. He needs to do that for himself though. :)

Never thought I could say this but I am so over men. I couldn't think of a single thing I would want one to be!!! That could change I know but right now being single feels like the best deal in town. They are just too much work!!!

No particular order:

Christian/Moral fiber, strong family values.

Job.  Well paying enough to afford a mortgage (even if he doesn't have one), full coverage insurance, a car and repairs, retirement fund, bills and credit.

Needs to have a vehicle that isn't going to fall apart at any time.

Needs to have a vehicle that doesn't scream "I'm going through a midlife crisis" or "I never wanted to leave high school cuz I drove this car when I was 17!!"

Mechanically inclined.  High mechanical aptitude.

Has a brain and uses it.  Doesn't have to be Einstein, but at least be able to follow a conversation on mature adult subject matter and know how to spell!!!

Strong but sensitive.

Masculine but "pretty".

Charisma and charm with a great sense of humor.

Maturity.  Nothing more unattractive to me than listening to a grown man talk as if he's a 12 year old in the locker room.

No fear of commitment.

Passionate.  Attentive and Flirtatious (with me).

Someone who makes me laugh and can stay strong and receptive if I need a shoulder to cry on.

The dude has to be completely opposite from my ex and that would be......

1.  Financially stable.  NO debt.  Knows how to budget, save money and have money to spend.

2.  Honest, down to earth, outgoing and likes to do the same things I do.

3.  Likes to travel and watch very little tv.

4.  Shows affection on the wim and is open about it.

5.  Knows how to cook.

6.  Knows how to clean - that means his own laundry.

7.  Charming and has a great sense of humor but not too overwhelming.

8.  Fit.  No one overweight need apply.

9.  Likes to drink wine and go wine tasting.

10.  Is a good mentor to my daughter.  She has hardly any male role models.

11.  No fear of commitment.  Is looking for a serious relationship and comitted to me and me only.

12.  Is religious.  Which means he will be good, decent and all around great guy.

What is YOUR guy list?

PS I am personally looking for a MAN and not a GUY. Big difference between the two.
