What does being a parent mean to you?
To me, being a parent means...
Snuggles & giggles, late nights, family photos, a smelly little boy and a daughter who likes perfume too much sometimes.
It means loving beyond anything I've ever known.
Loving someone more than I ever thought I could
Loving someone more than I love my self. No longer thinking what I want to do, but what's best for my daughter.
Picking out the perfect outfit for her, and having none clean for myself.
No longer caring how everyone else sees me, but how my child sees me.
Having a completely different outlook on life.
It's not all about me anymore, Love love love, dirty sandy little toes in my bed pretty much everyday, endlessly breastfeeding, eating last, playing with bugs, lots of time outside, waking a baby up by pretending to eat her, wearing her everywhere, showing her through action that I'm solid and secure and will ALWAYS be there for her!
Loving someone more then yourself, watching them grow and become, fall and pick themselves up and being there when they need you.
Being a parent is the most difficult, heart wrenching, and exhausting job I've ever had. But every moment is worth it because I've been blessed with the most amazing children.
Loving someone enough to let them go....and become the person you've raised them to be. My kids are entering adulthood and after caring for them all these years, I've found that it's hard to step back and let them test their own wings and make their own way and their own mistakes.
Loving your child unconditionallly. Making sure she has a home, food, clothing and basic necessities. Helping your child with daily trials and tribulations. When she needs financial help give it to her. Be respectable, honest and fair to her. Let her know above all else you will always be there for her.
