Only my ex's mom and sisters have anything to do with ds. My ex has a huge extended family, but doesn't deal with them so ds hasn't seen any of them in about six years. He doesn't know anyone of his dad's dads side of the family. He's only seen his grandfather once as a baby.

That's great! That's definitely not something you typically hear

They all live a few states away. They choose to keep contact only through my exh. I understand, but my son could really use more support from them. He's almost 10 and when we were married I was the one that facilitated all of the contact. I've only been divorced a few months and living seperately for nearly a year. Maybe on time it will get better. Right now there are just too many bad feelings.

Me too.  Of course it was the best thing I could have ever done and THEY could have done.  They would have seriously damaged my son.

Nope, I sent letters and pictures years ago and never got a response. My ex mil wrote in a fb comment how she wishes she knew her oldest grandchild so I told her she knew all my info and that she and the rest of the family were welcome to see him anytime. Of course no response, was trying to make herself look good. She doesn't see my exs other son anymore either now bc she was mad they're having another one. They're better off, that lady has major issues
