Toddler screaming, hitting and not taking regular naps

I am having a hard time knowing what to do with a 18 month old I am watching. I have watched him since he is a newborn. I love him to pieces, but when I come home the last few months, I am exhausted from his fighting me. It is worse when he does not nap. He seems frustrated and will hit me and is having major temper tantrums several times a day. I am devoted to him and all I do is take care of him, unless he is sleeping then I read or watch TV. His parents are lovely and he has everything he needs or wants.

It looks like he has some molars coming in. My kids are much older and I don't remember them being like this.

My kiddo was such a terror with teething.  Ugh, it was absolutely horrible.  Hopefully that is in fact that cause of it and something can be done to help him with those darn molars :(  And he stops being difficult soon!
