No apathy from them.  Every day is one more day gone.

I guess because it's been so long and he's never really done much that it no longer bothers me (or them) that their father doesn't call on their birthdays or holidays. I'm happy that I no longer sit around being pissed or hurt about him not calling. You and your daughter are alive and well so make the best of it instead of being sad that he hasn't called. YOU make her Easter memorable.

We can't change the behavior of others or make them care. Just enjoy the day with your dd.

My dh tried to call his dd22.  She's been living with his ex.  The number that he has for his dd is no longer valid. His ex didn't respond to his call asking if she'd have his dd return the call.  And, although his dd hit him up for $65 in a fb message 4 days ago, she didn't even bother to wish him a Happy Easter even online.  That's pretty sad too.  My kids (dd20 and ds29) made sure to contact both me and dh to wish us a Happy Easter since we weren't spending the day with them.  Dh is appreciative, but it's just not the same as his own dd contacting him.

Over the years (he's been divorced from bm since dd was 7), he hasn't missed calling her on any holiday.  But, this is the typical response he's gotten.  When she was younger and he had her on a holiday, he would always make sure that she called her mom, grandparents, and unmarried aunt and uncle.  Unfortunately, bm who makes such a big deal about family (hers of course), has never returned the courtesy.
