I'm new to the group. I have been divorced for 2 years with 2 kids and I feel no matter how many friends I have I still feel alone and sad because my family portrait became blank 2 years ago with my divorce and trying to paint a new picture has not be easy. Does anyone else feel that way.

The only thing I could say is if I could do it all over again, I would.  So many things to do" today" than "yesterday".

Did your kids go with their dad in the divorce?

If you still have your kids with you, your family portrait isn't blank :)

I have felt like this too. Do you have any one to talk to? After 2 years of divorce generally you start making acceptance and moving on. Don't focus on "a new picture" just focus on building you back up and the rest will come.

Your kids are your family. Make new and better family memories, start new traditions, make new friends, get a new haircut. Letting go of the picture you had in your head is not easy but you have to remember that sometimes things don't work out the way we expect them to. Allow good things to happen to you, don't hold on to the past.
