The recommendation the therapist made for originally me wanting to take my daughter because she says her father molested her. Has changed to all four kids have to go for minimum 15 sessions at 250 dollars an hour. The dad who's says he has no money will pay have plus he started his own therapy there to help him through this time where his kids don't want to see him. And they want me to go to them, where I could get free council long of my own. All court ordered so Noone can stop in the middle of therapy. How can I pay this is crazy, along with legal bills. I can't stop now or it will look like I am not trying. Ex didn't want to pay child support and suddenly he has all this money. I'm losing my mind!

You have to do what you can. Is he court ordered to pay for the counciling?

If he is court ordered and not paying then he's in contempt and can be taken back to court. If he molested a kid why isn't his ass in jail?

Get it done. But I would also check with your pediatrician about getting a referral for it so insurance can pay it.

Thats what I want to know. Why isn't his ass in jail? Just counseling. Oh buddy I'd be suing the judge who wouldn't throw him in jail.

He is not court ordered to pay because he said he couldn't afford it. He is paying half. He is not in jail because not enough evidence. My daughter told a friend then me( only because she was scared her friend wouldn't be friends with her) then a doctor, her teacher, but too little evidence. Hopefully therapy will help bring it out.  CAS has ordered no visits until therapy. So at least she doesn't have to see him for now, but she is scared to sleep alone at night. She told me hour chose her cause he knew she would never tell. She didn't for two years. She told her teacher she thought it was normal.

Thanks but it doesn't cover. I have to get it paid myself. (half). Of course I want to pay whatever it takes its just that I can't believe the expense and they said without interruption so you can't stop because you can't pay. Every time I go for help it seems I get yeah we can help here is our bill. It has been a nightmare and ex is actually taking me to court this week so he can have her for Christmas. She was so scared she asks me if I'm going to give her to him.

250/hr? is that $1000 for all kids to go to ONE session? that's absurd!! even paying half that is ridiculous.

there isn't a less expensive alternative?

I've already committed not knowing they were going to have so many sessions. She is a trauma specialist and I need my daughter to heal, I think they are taking advantage of the situation because we are having an awful court battle. My mother has been paying as I am a stay at home mom and am trying to get training now so I can work. This therapist was recommended by CAS so I went with it and now I am stuck. My ex has a lot of money but he pretends he doesn't. He took all our savings and gave it to his mother ($200,000) saying he owed her money, he could have paid all of it but is lying he is not working now. What a mess. The only thing I can think to do is one child at a time until they are finished. Hopefully they will go for that, but it is all so legal. She wants a court order so we can't pull out. Talk about taking advantage of the vulnerable. I just don't trust anyone right now...

Wow that's crazy expensive. Why can't you get your insurance to pay for it?

It's not covered under health insurance and we never had any extra insurance.

Check with your pediatrician to see if you can get referral to psychiatry there are a lot of places that accept insurance not private pay do some investigation
