I don't understand it

I don't understand my mom. She won't help me buy groceries but she gave someone at church $60, bought them a $30 high chair and just went to Wal-Mart to buy the a shower curtain. Why would she help people at church but not her own daughter?

You can go to a food bank or church to get food.

You can ask her but you probably already know.

Maybe you should attend church more often.

Do you work?  Are you getting CS from your EX?

Do you need help due to circumstances beyond your control such as the death of an SO or accident that left you/him unable to work in the field you went to college for? Or do you have a history of making poor decisions and not doing everything in your power to make your situation better no matter how hard?

I wouldn't help my child either if they were irresponsible and refused to help themselves. Have you asked your mom why she won't help you?

She offered to help me. I didn't ask her. She offered and then didn't help me.

I know I refuse to help my son as a way for him to learn. I'm not saying your mom is wrong or right but she may have her reason. Also from what you put here, she may have just forgotten.

You should utilize the food bank that's what it's there for. Don't let pride get in the way. We've all been there. Churches all have benevolent funds for this type of thing. Ask for help and they can help you.

I can't answer this without more information. Are you a user who constantly needs help but doesn't ever make their situation better?
