Anyone go to custody trial without a lawyer

My cousin did and he got full custody.

Bad bad idea. Does your ex have an attorney? Why can’t you guys work something out and avoid a trial?

I agree with Oliviasmom72. It could be detrimental for you to go in to a trial without an attorney especially if your judge is womaneater like the one my ex and I were unfortunate enough to have drawn. Seriously, I think she hated me, but it felt like she was kissing his ass.

No I've always had a lawyer. I would not risk my kids safety and health by not having one. I've been to court 2 times now and getting ready for a 3rd. This next one is to have him held in contempt because he refuses to follow the child support and parenting plan.

At least get a consult--many attorney's offer a free 1/2 hour. 

Google custody plans and come up with a proposed plan for your child/ren.

Figure out what you can negotiate on and what you are firm on.

Run the CS calculator for your state to get an estimate of who will pay what. 

Bring all this with you to the consult.
