What's your endgame? Are you transitioning for a certain amount of time or a certain length of new growth?

I have been transitioning for about 6-7 mths now and am just getting the courage to snip the ends so that only my natural remains. I have about 5 1/2 inches of new growth so I'm going for it LOL. One of my main issues is that I'm on a variety of medications and for example the shampoo and conditioner that I use will work really well one week and not so well the next, but on the weeks that it doesn't I just moisturize really well and press on.
