Christmas Butter Cookies

Christmas Butter Cookies

It’s time to begin thinking, and making, all those special things that make the holiday season so special.  The Sound God is coming home for Christmas and his brother and family will join us for the occasion.  I haven’t made these cookies for a few years, so I guess it is time to make a batch.  I will  probably make some homemade candy as well.  The Hazelnut Toffee and Sea Salt Caramels are always a huge hit.

The recipe below says it serves 12, but should read 12 families and then some.   You may want to cut it in half.

My Mom’s Butter Cookies

Recipe Summary
Complexity: Easy
Serves: 12

Meal: other (General)
1 lb butter, salted

Cream butter, sugar and eggs together. Add vanilla and mix. Add baking powder to flour and add slowly to sugar mixture. Roll dough out to 1/8th inch thickness, use a cookie cutter to cut into shapes. Bake at 325 degrees for 8 – 10 minutes; until light brown.
